DurhamWorks.org is part of the NCWorks system designed to provide support, training, job opportunities, and resources for business to create a model of shared economic prosperity for all. This work is coordinated by the Durham Workforce Development Board, a group comprised of a wide variety of individuals, businesses and organizations throughout the local area to facilitate, plan and coordinate workforce development resources to maximize the efforts of government, businesses, workforce partners, and education. The board promotes a responsive workforce development system, develops a job training plan for the provision of coordinated employment and training services, provides oversight and guidance for workforce development activities, and provides employment and training services designed to alleviate the social, educational, and economic problems of groups or individuals, including but not limited to those with employment barriers.
